Our Studio is pleased to introduce to you,
Edward L. Bowles
of Arvada, Colorado

Mr. Bowles was born and raised in northern Georgia. He spent his teen-age years in and around Atlanta. His father was a commercial artist, specializing in drawing and painting of theater signs and advertising. Ed accompanied his father on the theatre and sign "circuit" across the south. He learned to paint from his father as a young boy, having inherited his father's artistic talents.

In 1956, at the age of 18, Mr. Bowles traveled west to Colorado. He so enjoyed the western United States that he never went home again. He spent years in the oil and mining business, traveling extensively in the western United States. His art features many of the images captured during this period of time. He developed a deep appreciation and love for the people and culture of the southwestern United States, after spending time in Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

Because of his early experiences with his father, Mr. Bowles loves bright colors and considers himself a "colorist". The vivid, bold colors in his art have their roots in his experience with the theater art of his father. His art also reflects his fascination with life, and his true enjoyment of the vast spaces and many colors found in the Western United States. In addition to his paintings and prints, Ed has sketched in pen and ink many old mining and historical sites.

It is his hope that this art will convey to you the viewer, his feeling and enjoyment of our region of the country.

We are most pleased to introduce to you,
Norma Klein
of Albuquerque, New Mexico

From 1972 to 1983, Norma Klein successfully worked as an artist selling her ink and watercolor paintings in galleries and to private collectors and museums from Virginia to Albuquerque to California.  These paintings depicted the interiors of homes.  Kitchens, with their lively significance, were her favorite subjects.  In 1983, due to a wrist injury as well as the need to go beyond an artist’s income, she returned to school and studied electronics and computer programming.  Eventually, she became employed as a technical writer and logistics manager.  Then in 2000, the creative juices that she thought she had brought under control 17 years earlier came surging to the surface and one of the results is her series of cards created for AZ Graphics.  Norma has also turned to working in an entirely new art form, digital art, using her trusty computer.  She began this new pathway to her art in December 2000, with a one-person show at Albuquerque’s Inpost Artspace.  She also has had the pleasure of designing labels, advertising materials, and other graphics for a number of commercial products – from wine and salsa to Mexican jewelry.  Norma lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her husband, three computers, and her Rottweiler, Bingo.

AZ Arts & Graphics of Mesa, Arizona is pleased to introduce to you, Ralph Muzio
of Chandler,
Arizona

Born in Stockton, California in 1946. I started my migration to San Francisco in the early 1960’s and took up full time residence there in 1967. During that time I had my first job in the photographic field working as a darkroom technician at Romaine Photography in Jackson Square and the fascination with the art world and photography began. Working primarily in B&W and portraiture my skills slowly developed. It was while working at Adolph Gassers in San Francisco that I received training from Rudy Bender, who worked with Minor White, and tutelage from Paul Glines.

I married in 1980 and began a career in the Computer Industry in 1983. In that industry I conceived and developed PC General, The Student Friendly Computer School, in 1987 and relocated to Ukiah, California in 1992. Having closed the school in 2002, I have since relocated to Chandler, Arizona. It was here while experiencing the Southwest sights, colors and feeling that I was once again rekindled my passion for photography as art.

I hope my work captures the essence and feel of the Southwest and Arizona. From the origins of the Native people to the present with the 21st century lifestyle overlaying the landscape the essence of this land remains. Most of my images are recorded with a digital camera and then transported to Photoshop® for manipulation and the final project. You may contact Ralph directly at: muziosgarden@cox.net
