E. J. Roll. . .Ceramic tile design seemed a natural step when Elizabeth Jaffe Roll decided to concretize her poems into colors, forms and shapes. She wanted to use an ancient historic form and a medium of permanence. She was attracted to the flow of the glazes and the vibrancy of the colors in tile design.

Elizabeth memorializes Jewish life cycle events, and gives creative expression to historical events including the holocaust. She has a love of the Hebrew letters and a reverence for the wisdom of Judaism. She likes to think of her one-of-a-kind tiles floating throughout the country like Chagall images.

With an interest in diversity and cross-cultural inclusion, Elizabeth has done designs of the southwest and incorporated multiple religious themes in her work. Her tiles are sold at Felipe's Gallery in Old Town, Albuquerque (505.242.4784.

When not creating art, Elizabeth spends her time in the practice of psychotherapy. As a clinical psychologist, she has learned the transformative role of art in human lives.

The Studio of AZ Arts & Graphics of Mesa, Arizona, is most pleased to bring Elizabeth's work to your selective attention and to offer them to the world community. To view Elizabeth's initial offering for your purchase, please click here:

Sharon Snow. . .
is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, holding a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts along with a minor in English and over forty post-graduate hours in Education from the University of Phoenix and Chapman University. Areas of intense application included oil painting, sculpture, figure drawing, architectural design and art history.

She was born and raised in the Chicago area where she was able to spend many afternoons visiting the famous "Art Institute," studying limitless masterpieces.

In 1985, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she currently resides. Sharon is presently working on her "Festive Series"; a very unique group of party scenes, and teaches high school students the art of painting.

Some of Sharon's early works were critiqued by Richard Love of Love Galleries in Chicago. He viewed her work with great enthusiasm and appreciated her use of color and intricate detail.

One of her proudest and most honored achievements was a sensitive, realistic commissioned painting of Christ, done for a Chicago priest. Most unexpectedly, the priest met with Mother Teresa in 1986, when she came to Chicago to dedicate her new convent. He offered her the painting and her Sisters fell in love with it, pleading with her to accept the piece. Mother Teresa graciously accepted the painting out of love for her Sisters and it may be viewed, at the "Missionaries of Charity Convent" in Chicago on Allport Street, where it is placed in the Chapel on Fridays for their services.

Throughout Sharon's 25 years of professional painting, from numberous consignment pieces and commissioned works, to four years in the "Gold Coast Art Fair" (Rush Street, Chicago), she has come to the realization that the positive experiences in life are the only ones worthy of remembering.

Another professional joy for Sharon was a feature article in the 1993-94 edition of "Scottsdale Magazine" (Scottsdale, Arizona).

The Studio of AZ Arts & Graphics welcomes Sharon to its Family of Artists, and is proud to display her initial submission of scenes from her "Festive Series" here on our web site at the following hyperlink:  New-Series-AZA&G.htm

We look forward to receiving more of Sharon's Southwestern flair in the months ahead.

Ryan Klemek. . .was born in Syracuse, New York, way back in 1975, and grew up in a town called Latham, just outside of Albany. Like many young boys, his interest in drawing had roots in comic books. However, the training he received in high school was very academic, and observational drawing directly from life replaced drawing from imagination. While at the time, it seemed that creativity was being stifled by rigorous "paying attention to detail", he later was very grateful for traditional "realistic" drawing skills he acquired under Mrs. Karen Fischer and Ms. Susan Stuart of Shaker High School. In college, he would find no such imposed discipline. At the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where Ryan studied from 1993-1998, students design their own studio curriculum. Ryan's endurance for observational drawing and painting waned and found himself "loosening up" with his technique. He also wanted to try some completely new things. Taking advantage of a Pro-Arts Consortium with Emerson College, Ryan studied acting and creative writing. He finally graduated with a BFA in Art Education from Tufts University (in affiliation with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts) in February of 1998. After a very hard semester of student teaching, he decided teaching high school on a full-time basis wasn't for him.

Since the summer of 1997, Ryan has been working on and off drawing caricatures for a novelty company called Fun Enterprises based in Weymouth, Massachusetts. The work he does on his own ranges from representational portraiture to absurd cartoons featured on greeting cards. The illustrations are done primarily with ink and watercolor, the content of which being much more notable that the technique. Few people have depicted Santa in such preposterous situations.

AZ Arts & Graphics is pleased to make available to our customers his "off-centered / humorous / contemporary / whimsical / funny" creations. They ARE different. . .non-traditional. . .and will make you smile!  Welcome to the "Family" of AZ Arts & Graphics.
